Pre light your candles on the birthday cake.

Why?  When you prelight them before putting them on the cake they will light VERY easy when you go to light the candles.  Instead of waiting for each candle to burn off the little bit of wax.  This just make things flow easier... especially for little bitty kiddos..

A year in review 2014!

It has been a wonderful year at Merry Makers.  I wish I could make myself sit down more often and blog, however I prefer to talk instead of type.

A year in review.
January - City of Greeley's Father Daughter dance - this is always a wonderful dance for dad's and daughters to come spend quality time.  Merry Makers has been a sponsor of this event for 4 years.  We support families!
February - Valentines Day! -- Whew this was fun.. Lots of amazing balloons delivered all over Northern Colorado!
March - BIG Month - Banner Health's Spirit of Women "Day of Dance" event.  Merry Makers created a huge "Horton" from "Horton hears a Who".. Dr. Suess Themed event.  and dance floor decor.

Also - World Balloon Convention - Denver Co, 2014 - Merry Makers competed with just 2 crew members against the best in the world.  While we did not win - we made an impression.  Most of the teams had over 20 members building the displays - we had 2.  Yes.  Colorado and Merry Makers totally rock.

April/May - Prom Season - one of my favorite times of year.  Amazing creations of dance floor canopies for our local schools. - A few of our favorite big annual clients have us decorate for their corporate meetings.

June-August - Full on Summer Time fun.  Festivals including The Greeley Arts Picnic, Fort Collins New West Fest, Windsor Harvest Festival and many others.. We love festival season as we are out in the public having fun with our favorite people... you..

September-November - Halloween - This is all about fun!!  Amazing makeup and cool creative balloons..
December - This is a time for Santa - He is booked every year and you have to make sure you get on the books early to have him at your event.
New Years eve - This year- in Fort Collins.  The magic of Lloyd and Linda will be at the Aztlan Center along with some custom balloon drops.  Brian and I will be at the Lincoln Center twisting balloons up for everyone.  I look forward to seeing you there!!  Blessings and prosperity to all.

Festival Season is Here - August 2013

It has been a very busy summer here at Merry Makers.  We have had two balloon training classes with over 10 new artist, a face painting class with 7 amazing face painters and we are all set and geared up to go.

We have already had the Greeley Arts Picnic which was amazing.. the weather could not have been more perfect.  Great painting, great stage shows and more.

Our next big event will be the New West Fest -- http://downtownfortcollins.com/events/bohemian-nights-at-newwestfest - this weekend.  Our booth is set up in the SE quadrant of the Library property.  We are on the NW corner of that quadrant.  Come check us out.  Several of my new painters will be there.

After that we will be participating again for the Tour De Fat/New Belgium's biking event in Fort Collins and Denver.http://www.newbelgium.com/events/tour-de-fat.aspx - They have hired us!! so we will be painting free for the participants.

Windor's Harvest Festival -http://www.windsorharvestfest.com/ One of our favorites - It will be in Main Park on Sunday and Monday where there will be close to 200 Arts and Crafts and Commercial Booths as well as a great selection of Food Vendors. There will be great music and demonstrations coming from the Entertainment Stage in the park along with plenty of rides and games for the kids! The parade on Monday promises to be as great as always.  Our booth is usually located on the south side, near the food vendors, however it is considered the western side of the park.  

Then we will have the Loveland Oktoberfest  on September 21 -- http://www.e-l-events.org/Pages/E.L.EventCalendar.php?id=4899 -- This looks like it will be a fun event!

Any finally - the Greeley Oktoberfest -- Sept 27th and 28th -- http://www.greeleydowntown.com/signature-events/oktoberfest -- We love Greeley!! we get to start the season here and end the season here.

Don't think it will be over though... Halloween is always fun!!  We will be scheduling private appointments to get your halloween makeup done.  We are open to the idea of setting up shop somewhere as a demonstration space this will be a way to bring attention both to you and to us.

Silver Achievement Award!!

So I just got back from the World Balloon Convention where many hours of pure laughter and lots and lots of balloons were to be had for about 5 days straight.  I am not going to tell you that I had no stress... boy there was stress.  I decided before I went down there to compete in the column design.  I had a new idea and wanted to share it.

Well... I did.  I was very happy with it's sheer size and impact.  While it did not win the top level.. I did win a Silver Achievement Award.

Yes that is right... little ol Allison in little ol Greeley came back with an award from the World Balloon Convention!  ROCKON!!.  I am thrilled!!  Like us at -- https://www.facebook.com/MakeItMerry

Santa Sleigh and Magic!!

So the Greeley Event's Group offered up another facebook promotion.  This time it had nothing to do with the most likes wins.  We did ask that people like our page and have 10 unique individual comments under the photo or video that they posted.  Then once they met those two qualifications they would be entered into a random drawing.  The drawing was done by Santa. 

Well... we didn't get the response we were hoping for.  It is hard to tell what will work and what won't. 

So it is fun to put events together to try to bring awareness to Greeley about the amazing people who offer services that are far superior to many of the vendors in Denver.
I look forward to the day that people will no longer search elsewhere... Balloons, Flowers, Venues, Photographers, Dj's and so much more.

Win A Wedding

So.. one day last spring... I got together with a few really amazing business owners here in Greeley to discuss an idea about having a wedding show.

This turned into an amazing adventure that included breathing life into an old group I started and giving it a new name and new life.  A Face Book Contest that was a great concept... however ran into some challenges the closer it got to the end.  I inherently believe in the goodness of people and unfortunately am disappointed when people don't' do the right thing.

Either way... The Greeley Events Group is giving away a $15,000 wedding.  Someone is going to win and all of our chosen couples are deserving.  I can't wait to see the grand finale
And more importantly... I am part of a great Group of people who really believe in doing the right thing... and that feels good.

Win A Wedding!

I have been having the most incredible experience working with other Greeley Event providers to bring the Win A Wedding competition to fruition.  Not only have I had the pleasure of working with some really amazing people...but i have had the pleasure to REALLY do something good for our community in a way that works for me.  The 10 finalist are just wonderful, the competition itself has been terrific, and I just can't wait until October 4th when we announce our Grand Prize Winner!!!

I am they type of person  who generates ideas.  This group has provided me with an outlet to get those ideas working.  Very little money spent with GREAT results.  Watch for my next idea to kick into full gear next month.
